About Me
Hello! I’m Sara, I offer Postnatal Doula support tailored to your needs in and around Leeds/Yorkshire.
I am Mummy to 5 wonderful children, I love muddy walks and pouring rain (not together) and that feeling of getting into your pyjamas after a busy day.
3 small things that I think make a big difference for my clients…
1. Making a tea/coffee/drink just how you like it.
2. Giving you the time to feel yourself and relaxed. This is so different for each family it might mean I care for your baby while you go have a sleep or a bath. Or it could be I get the washing sorted and get a meal ready while you have time with your baby.
3. Listening

My Story
Why A Doula?
With lots of personal experience in the antenatal world being a pregnant woman. I found some of my care had been amazing but equally some of it had been pretty dire. It makes such a massive difference to your experience when you are supported and surrounded by people who really listen and care about what you want and what is best for you. Not what they think is right for you.
Naturally I noticed lots of people would come to me for support having already had a few babies! Which meant I became passionate to support people to find that empowerment from within and enable them to make choices that worked for them and their baby. I did what I did with my pregnancies, birth and beyond because it worked for us as a family, and I enjoyed supporting others help work out what works for them…which pretty naturally brought me to the world of being a Doula
I trained with the amazing Nurturing Birth family and one of the first things I was told was “We are born as Doulas”. It made total sense – I have always been a doula, it is something inside of me that is so natural and essentially part of who I am. I can’t think of anything I would rather be doing than supporting families at the most precious, emotional time of their lives. Being asked to be a part of that journey…incredible.
Following all my training and a few children in-between, working as a Doula and feeling I am most naturally and best placed in the home supporting families. Enabling you to feel heard and looked after during the 4th trimester which can be hard and amazing all at the same time. ‘Newborn Doula’ was born (pun absolutely intended!)
We are made to bring babies into a community ‘it takes a village’ but unfortunately with how busy people can be it makes it hard to get the kind of support you need or want. Families with newborn babies need so much support, which is where I come in!
